Nippers - Membership

Join/Renew Kirra Nippers

 

  1. Join to become a new member sign up using SLSA Members area, note - a parent/guardian must sign up as a member as well as your nipper.  If you don't hold a Bronze Medallion or SRC you will need to join as an Associate.  Click for how to join instructions.                                                                                    Or                                                                                              Renew your membership using the SLSA Members Area.  Please click for how to renew instructions.

  2. Payment can also be made in the SLSA Members Area.  Once membership is create/renewed please continue with the Payment option or select the $ at the top of the membership page. All prices are listed on the payment page. If you are using a Fair Play voucher please contact the office to find out the balance due.

  3. Pool swim. After membership is paid, complete a pool swim evaluation.  Bring a completed Pool Swim form for each child on the first day you attend Nippers.

  4. Blue Card. Parents/guardians must also apply for the Queensland government's ‘Working with Children Blue Card’ which can be applied for online. Blue Cards are free for Volunteers.

  5. Should you require it you can complete a paper Membership form and bring it with you on your first day at Nippers.

       

NIPPER SIGN-ON 2024/25

For a quick & easy sign-on, complete online membership using the SLSA members portal. Complete pool swim at your local pool and then simply bring completed pool swim form with you on the first day of nippers!

Did you know Qld Fair Play vouchers  can be used towards club membership fees for 5-17 year olds.

Nippers Membership Requirements

  • At least one parent/guardian must join as a member for a child to join nippers, if you do not hold a Bronze or SRC you will need to join as an Associate.  We encourage both parents to join the club however at least one parent per family must join the surf life saving club and accompany their child on the beach during nipper sessions.  How to join

  • All Green Cap Nippers require at least one parent/guardian in the water up to their childs' knees, during water activities.

  • The annual pool swim evaluation is a require­ment of Surf Life Sav­ing Aus­tralia. Each season prior to par­tic­i­pa­ting in any junior activ­ity, ALL junior mem­bers (nippers) must com­plete a pro­fi­ciency swim assessment at a pool. Proficiency also assists in the man­age­ment of junior activities. Nippers can do their proficiency pool swim at either a pool sign-on day, which their own swim coach (if they have lessons) or at your local pool.  Please contact the pool first to arrange a suitable time.  If you are arranging pool swim yourself, please use this form - Pool Evaluation Form

Age Groups

The minimum age for Nippers is 5 years (U6) up to a maximum age of 13 years (U14) on a seasonal basis.

 

Age for each season is determined at midnight on 30th September, at the commencement of the season. For example, a member who is 11 years on 20th September registers as an U12 for the season.

​

11 years on 01st October registers as an U11 for the season.

 

Age groups are U6-U8, U9-U10, U11-U12 to U13-14.

$105 Nipper Associate - Nipper parents and guardians

$95 14-17 years Member

$80 U8 to U14 Nipper 

$70 U6/7 Green Caps – healthy living, sun safety program for active kids

$300 Family – a family of 4 at same address (extra member $10 off)
