Nippers Carnivals

Another role of the club is to provide nippers with the opportunity compete in surf and beach sports with other clubs at carnivals.  Participation is optional and open to all levels of ability.

The regular nippers program operates at Kirra when carnivals are on, except when a carnival is at Kirra.

There are two age levels for carnivals, U8-U10 and U11-U14.

There is a $5 fee for each carnival that you enter.

Check the What's On board at Nippers each Sunday for when carnival nominations are due.

If your child competes in carnivals the club has an expectation that you will support the nippers in some way. Either directly as an official, water safety, age manager (or assistant), team manager, etc. Otherwise as a bbq helper, fundraiser, committee member, etc. Please consider getting involved in some way to help all our children and to get to know other members.

Team Selection Policy

Kirra competes in a number of team events at carnivals as well as at the State Titles. Selection into teams is made by the Age Manager, Team Manager, Coaches, and the JAC. It is based on performance, reliability, attitude, commitment, team spirit and loyalty, among others.

In addition to club carnivals, there are other carnivals run throughout the season that may interest members, like Wave Warriors.
